ANCOLD 2020 Tailings Dam Operators Forum – 10 & 11 September

The ANCOLD 2020 Tailings Dam Operators Forum will be held at the Oaks Grand Hotel in Gladstone, Queensland.  This location, at the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef is Queensland’s industrial hub due to its proximity to inland mining operations and Queensland largest multi-commodity shipping port.

Given the significant focus and ongoing global commitment to improve the management of tailings, this forum provides operators the chance to network, share and learn from peers.

As a ‘non-competitive’ part of each mining company’s business, the operational aspect of tailings dams is the most critical (and often overlooked) contributor to improving the overall management of tailings from concept design to closure and beyond.

Expressions of Interest are now open for operators to present a 10-15 mins powerpoint presentation at this forum on their systems/process, challenges, innovation and solutions.

Please submit your expression of interest for the above directly to the secretariat [email protected]

The forum will involve;

Day 1 – 10 September 2020 –  invited Key-note speakers, presentations from Operators and a themed forum session

Day 2 – 11 September 2020 – Site visit to Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) tailings dams (pictured)

Should CV-19 restrictions continue to limit travel for the planned dates on 10-11 September, this event will be rescheduled accordingly.
