Melbourne Water is owned by the Victorian Government. We manage Melbourne's water supply catchments, remove and treat most of Melbourne's sewage, and manage rivers and creeks and major drainage systems in and around Melbourne.
Our operating area extends from Melbourne's water supply catchments high up in Yarra Ranges, to the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port, north to Yan Yean and west to Werribee. This boundary will be expanded under the Government's Securing our water future together action plan.

Thiess has constructed over 50 dams in the last 45 years. Thiess' first major dam constriction project was for the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme.
